Managed prices as of June 2026, each linked to its source. The self-hosted row is not an estimate: the RAM figure is what this stack allocates in its compose file, and the plan is the smallest one that holds it.

Honest math: at 20 GB, S3/R2 are cheaper than self-hosting. MinIO earns its keep with S3 event hooks, ILM rules, LAN latency to your apps, and zero external dependency - not raw storage price.

AWS S3, Cloudflare R2 bill by usage rather than a fixed monthly price, so a table cannot compare it honestly. The structural difference is the one that matters: a flat plan has a known worst case, and a meter does not.

#sizing, if you outgrow the small plan
The $7 plan is the smallest that fits. For production traffic you generally want the next tier up, and dedicated vCPU if the workload is CPU-bound rather than idle-waiting.

Maintenance notice (June 2026): MinIO archived its open source in April 2026; this template pins the last published image (Sep 2025; console reduced to an object browser, one unpatched CVE since). It remains for MinIO-specific needs - new deployments should use the garage template, the actively maintained successor.
